Executive Chairman & Co-Founder

Guillermo Trias, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in finance and investment management, spearheads Tidal Financial Group as Executive Chairman and Co-Founder. With a solid background in executive leadership roles within the financial services sector, including serving as Head of Strategy & Business Development at Global X Management and contributing to investment banking at Deutsche Bank, Guillermo has honed his skills in driving growth and innovation. His career highlights also feature successfully launching and scaling multiple start-ups, as well as leading corporate build-outs. At Tidal Financial Group, Guillermo is tasked with overseeing the company's overall strategy and leadership, driving key initiatives forward, and nurturing strategic relationships to propel the firm's success.

Gavin Filmore

Chief Executive Officer

Gavin Filmore is Chief Executive Officer of Tidal Financial Group, bringing over 15 years of experience in financial markets and ETF product development. Formerly Head of Exchange Traded Products at Barclays Capital, he leads Tidal’s strategic vision, operating model, and platform execution. Gavin’s expertise spans product structuring, capital markets, trading, and regulatory oversight - positioning Tidal at the center of the ETF ecosystem to help clients launch, operate, and grow successful ETFs.

Claire Du Plessis

Chief Marketing Officer

Claire du Plessis brings over two decades of international marketing experience to her role as CMO at Tidal. Her career spans strategic leadership across global territories, with a diverse background encompassing FMCG, Finance, and SaaS industries. Over the past five years, Claire has been captivated by the dynamic growth of the ETF space, focusing her efforts on this innovative sector. She is instrumental in shaping Tidal's strategic direction with a particular emphasis on the ETF Masters initiative, while also spearheading the development of our robust marketing offerings through the Smart Growth Program.

Eric Falkeis

Chief of Operations

Eric Falkeis is a seasoned financial services executive with over 25 years of experience and a proven track record of leadership. Joining Tidal in 2018 as a Co-Founder, Eric played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the Tidal ETF Services platform. His prior roles include serving as the President and COO of Direxion Investments and as the Director of ETF Operations for US Bank. Eric brings extensive board experience to the table, having served as Chairman and Trustee for Tidal Trusts I & II, as well as holding independent director positions for various mutual fund and BDC Trusts.

Jay Pestrichelli

Chief Trading Officer

Jay Pestrichelli brings 30 years of experience to his role as Chief Trading Officer at Tidal. Before joining Tidal, Jay was Co-Founder and Managing Director of ZEGA Financial, where he developed innovative hedging strategies, including HiPOS and Buy & Hedge, and was part of a team managing over $10 billion in ETF assets across a range of funds. A recognized thought leader, Jay co-authored the book Buy and Hedge, which bridges the gap between complex options strategies and everyday investors. His leadership at TD Ameritrade and Datek Online further solidified his expertise in trading and operations.

Michael Pellegrino

General Counsel

Michael Pellegrino serves as Tidal’s General Counsel. Michael has more than 25 years of legal experience focused on the investment management industry. In 2008, Michael founded and managed the investment management law firm, Pellegrino LLC. Prior experience includes serving as in-house counsel at PNC Global Investment Servicing, Inc. (now a BNY Mellon company) and Delaware Investments. He was also an associate in the investment management practice groups of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and Drinker Biddle & Reath.

Ronnie Riven

Chief Financial Officer

Ronnie Riven joined Tidal in 2024 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing over a decade of finance leadership experience. Before joining Tidal, Ronnie held key roles at prominent organizations, including Global X ETFs, Barclays Center, National Grid, and BDO USA. His extensive expertise in financial management and strategic planning has been instrumental in driving financial growth and operational efficiency across these diverse industries.

Michael Venuto

Chief Investment Officer

Michael Venuto brings over two decades of extensive experience in the asset management business as the CIO and Co-Founder of Tidal. With a notable background, including roles such as Head of Investments at Global X Management and Director and Portfolio Manager at Horizon Kinetics, Michael has demonstrated his expertise in various facets of investment management. At Tidal, Michael leads the charge in investment management, research, and trading, ensuring our clients receive top-notch services and insights. His exceptional contributions have earned him recognition as an ETF All-Star by etf.com.

William Woolverton

Chief Compliance Officer

William Woolverton, Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), brings over 30 years of experience in compliance, governance, legal, and risk management across ETFs, open-end mutual funds, closed-end funds, and UCITS. He has held senior executive positions at Putnam Investments and Alliance Bernstein and has been a member of the financial services groups at Dechert, LLP, and Clifford Chance, LLP. At Tidal, William is responsible for overseeing compliance and fund governance services, ensuring the implementation of best-in-class internal compliance controls.
